I have lived in Martensville for over 20 years and grew up on a farm in southern Saskatchewan. As a farm kid I had the opportunity to learn a multitude of different skills and repairs. For postsecondary I became a journeyman machinist. My 12 years in the trade was in the mining sector, then for the City of Saskatoon. As a machinist, I learned patience and precision and I carry that into my work to this day. I then had the opportunity to be a stay at home dad for 8 years while the kids were young. During this period I found a lot of time to do many repairs and upgrades to our home. I enjoy learning new skills and with YouTube, the sky is the limit. One of my favorite things is dreaming up ideas, then figuring out how to execute them. I've assisted friends and neighbours over the years with home projects. In the past few years the kids have needed me less and less and so it was time to find a new path. Chabot Handyman Services was born.
I really enjoy meeting new people and helping them get their odd jobs done. An ongoing theme I found talking to people is that is hard to find someone to do small jobs. I also seem to enjoy doing things other people don't like, such as cutting in for painting and mudding and taping. As a handyman I don't just specialize in one thing, I have wide range of skills to complete your whole To-Do list with out calling out multiple trades. That being said, my insurance only lets me do a certain amount so a good electrician or plumber is sometimes needed depending on the project. I take a lot pride in my work and being a machinist I am very fussy. I am excited and nervous to run my own business but I have really enjoyed it so far and would love the opportunity to help you out.
